Germany has a new record. In the first 6 months of 2026, much power was green. 58 percent of power came from green energy. This is a very high amount. It was less in the year before.
Wind made a lot of power. Wind wheels at the sea made much more power. Wind wheels on land were also very active. The sun made a bit more power too. But water made less power. There was not enough rain for that.
Experts say: Green power is good for Germany. We buy less gas and oil then. This makes Germany free from other countries. Green power also protects the climate. This is important against the big heat on Earth.
