Fewer children in Europe have no vaccines. Experts from the WHO and UNICEF say this. The WHO region includes 53 countries. Turkey and Israel belong to this region too. In total, 566,000 children have no vaccine protection. This is 43,000 children less than the year before. Many children without vaccines live in Kazakhstan and Turkey. There are also many in Great Britain and Azerbaijan.
Some children have only some vaccines. This is a weak protection. The situation in Austria is good. 95 percent of babies get the first measles vaccine. This is a high number. But many children miss the second measles vaccine. Only 84 percent of children in Austria get it. That is too little for a safe protection.
The experts are worried. In war zones, there are often no programs for vaccines. There is also not enough money for help. False news is another big problem. Some people believe vaccines are dangerous. The WHO says: Vaccines save many lives. They saved 150 million people in 50 years.
