In 2025 the ASFINAG collected much trash. It was 8.915 tons in total. This is a bit less than before. But in some places there is more trash. In Vienna there is twice as much trash.
Trash on the road is very dangerous. Bottles and cans can fly like stones. Cars must move away fast. This causes bad accidents. It is also dangerous for the workers.
Workers pick up one quarter of the trash by hand. They work next to the fast cars. This costs 9 million Euro every year. People throw away house trash or building waste. The ASFINAG asks all people: Put your trash in the right place.
