Deutsche Bahn plans a new rule. Alcohol is soon forbidden at 5,400 stations in Germany. This rule applies on platforms and in station halls. You can drink alcohol in restaurants at the station.
Closed bottles in bags are allowed. The boss Evelyn Palla wants more safety. She wants to protect staff and travelers. Alcohol often causes fights. Big stations like Hamburg already have this rule. There is less violence there now.
Security guards and the federal police check the rule. If you drink, you must leave the station. If you break the rule often, you lose access. The company changes the 'Hausordnungen' for this. Everything is ready by October 15, 2026.
