The US company Uber changes its plans. It wanted to bring Uber Eats to more countries. Now Uber stops the expansion in Europe. This affects 5 out of 7 countries. Austria also gets no service for now.
The reason is a planned takeover. Uber wants to buy the company Delivery Hero. This is a big competitor from Germany. The purchase changes plans for Europe. Uber Eats already started in Finland and Denmark. These starts were very good according to reports.
Uber also wanted to go to Norway and Greece. Czech Republic and Romania were also on the list. Austria had Uber Eats once before. That was some years ago. It is unclear if the service comes later.
At the same time big firms grow worldwide very strong. This is because of Artificial Intelligence. Firms from the USA are very valuable. The firm Nvidia is at the top. Europe plays a small role in this trend.
