Warning about AI danger

Yvette Cooper is a minister in Great Britain. She worries about Artificial Intelligence. Short name is AI. Cooper warns of bad results for people. She compares AI to the atomic bomb in 1945. Back then Japan had much damage. The world made rules for weapons only later. Cooper says: We must not wait so long. We need rules for AI now. AI is a big danger in bad hands.

Criminals and terrorists use strong AI programs now. They use the technique for attacks. They use it for lies on the internet. Cooper sees a big risk for our freedom. Big countries like the USA and China have a duty. They must set clear limits for AI. AI will be the most important topic in politics in 2 years.

The minister wrote her warning for a research group. She says: AI has many good options. But the danger is as big as the climate change. All states on Earth must work together now. Only then can we protect all people. The time for common rules is here now.
