On September 11 2001 something terrible happens. Bad people steal 4 planes in the USA. 2 planes fly into the World Trade Center in New York. One plane hits the Pentagon in Washington. The 4th plane crashes on a field. Almost 3.000 people lose their life.
Many people still know: Where am I on this day? Thomas Gottschalk learns it on the phone. A wood worker from Switzerland is in New York. He sees the hole in the tower. In Germany many people see the pictures on TV. All people are very shocked.
The attacks change the whole world. The USA start a war against terror. This war costs very much money. It lasts almost 20 years. Today we have harder laws for safety. At airports we have more checks. Experts say: The danger from terror is still there.
