The Meinl Bank is broke in the year 2020. Now there are new charges against the bosses. The public prosecutor leads a case. The prosecutor investigates Julius Meinl and other managers.
It is about much money. Around 150 million euro are missing. The managers use the money in a wrong way. They sell good parts of the bank too cheap. This includes also the famous coffee shop.
Julius Meinl gets high sums for advice. But there is no work for this money. The bank also pays for a private plane. Nobody checks if the flights are for work.
The investigators block houses and land. This includes a villa in Vienna. Also land in Styria has a block. This saves the money for the creditors.
A next charge is about a small bank in the Caribbean. There people steal money from customers. The managers push bad loans to this bank. They want to make the balance of the Vienna bank look better.
Julius Meinl lives today in Czechia. The police also investigates Peter Weinzierl. He is an old boss of the bank. For all persons rules the presumption of innocence. This means: They are innocent until a court says something else.
