The care insurance in Germany has a big problem. It lacks much money. In the years 2027 and 2028, it lacks 22,5 billion Euro. Health Minister Nina Warken wants to change the system now. She says: The insurance cannot pay all costs.
Nina Warken plans different steps. People with high income shall pay more money. Also, the rules for care grades become stricter. This means: Some people maybe get less help. Grants for the care home shall also change.
Many people criticize these plans. Eugen Brysch from the Foundation for Patient Protection is angry. The minister said that many children with the illness ADHS cost money. Brysch says: This is not true. Only 2 percent of people in need of care are children. He demands more money from the state.
Also the Linke party and care associations talk about it. They demand a real reform. They do not want to save money at the expense of weak people. The care insurance must be safe for the future. Only then do all people get the help they need.
