In the Himalaya is a bad disaster. A big glacier breaks off. Much ice and rock fall in a river. This makes a huge wave from mud and water. The wave is up to 100 meters high.
The flood hits villages in Nepal and Tibet. It happens on Wednesday very sudden. Houses, bridges and streets are away. In some towns the mud is now 2 meters high. It looks very bad there.
Helpers find 270 dead people. Over 1300 people are still gone. Many tourists and pilgrims from many lands are there. Also 8 people from Germany are missing. Rescue teams look with helicopters for survivors.
The search is very hard. Many ways are broken. The army helps with the rescue. Experts say: The weather gets warmer. Therefore glaciers melt faster. Such floods can happen more often.
