A reason for high prices is the fear of blockades at sea. There are many fights in the Middle East. Ships can not easily pass narrow sea routes. Saudi Arabia also stopped an important oil pipe. This makes oil more expensive worldwide.
Politicians from the SPD party want help from the state. Dietmar Woidke wants a gas price limit. This means: The price must not go over a certain limit. He thinks it is unfair that oil firms make much money. Drivers must pay very much money. The government does not want this limit yet.
Experts give advice: Buy gas just before 12 noon. Since April, gas stations may raise prices only once a day. This always happens at exactly 12 noon. After that, gas often gets much more expensive. Some experts think the price could soon reach 3 euros.
