Volkswagen wants to save money. The goal is more profit until 2030. The supervisor board makes a plan. The plan costs much money. VW plans with 16 billion euro for the change.
Much money is for job cuts. 10 billion euro are for ending work contracts. Worldwide up to 60.000 people can lose work. The cuts use old age part time or money gifts. This is socially acceptable.
Also 4 factories in Germany have a check. The towns are Emden, Zwickau, Hannover and Neckarsulm. Closing these works costs about 6 billion euro. A final decision is not ready yet. Production can stop there from 2031.
