The parliament in Hungary makes a new choice. It changes a strict law for child protection. In the past, the state banned LGBTQ content. The word LGBTQ means people with different love lives.
The old leader Viktor Orbán made these bans. Books needed plastic covers. Schools could not talk about it. The court of the European Union says: The bans break EU rules. The new leader Péter Magyar changes this now.
Many politicians vote for the change. 139 politicians say yes. 51 politicians say no. Péter Magyar wants better safety for children.
Now the new rules are active. Content must not hurt children. This is true for media and the internet. There are no special bans for LGBTQ content anymore.
