Austria has less fruit and vegetables this year. The reason is big heat and low rain. Fruit farms have 30 percent less crop. Vegetable farms have 40 percent less crop.
Apples suffer very much. The crop is one third smaller than last year. Onions and carrots also have big loss. Chinese cabbage even misses half of the crop.
Plants stop growing above 30 degrees. This harms tomatoes most. Farmers now ask for help from politicians. They need money for irrigation and better water storage. Climate change worries farmers a lot.
